Jump Around, Jump Around! Jump Up, Jump Up, & Get Down!!

Yesterday, the boys and I needed a fun day, so we decided to check out the indoor bouncy place.

The Pirate Ship bouncy.

John checking out the bouncy slide &, of course, John found the one ball in the entire place.

Jax got to the top of this slide & refused to slide down. It was so big. He said he was scared.

To most, these pictures will look all the same, but to me, they tell a grand story of victory over fear.

Jax didn't mind the climb. It didn't scare him. In fact, he very much enjoyed the challenge.

He chose to go down this slide b/c, while it was big, it had a curve in it, so it didn't seem so fast & scary.

He loved it, of course.

After that, I told him to go back & try the first slide.

Again, he loved it. :)

Climbing to try out the BIGGEST slide in the building.

Guess what. He loved it.

As soon as he got to the bottom he said, "I shredded it!!!" (Which is kid talk for: He did great! He conquered it!!!)

& he was so excited, proud, happy, & confident to do it 20 (or 30) more times.

As I watched him climbing up & sliding down, I couldn't help but think about how this is just like life. It's full of mountains & valleys & fears & conquering fears. Sometimes the mountains are steep, the valleys are deep, but God holds our hand & cheers us on through it. Once we make it through, once we conquer fear, we are stronger for it. Our faith is strengthened. We "shred" those trials & tribulations!

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:2-4

  1. And sometimes you can't see what's around the curve, but you bail off anyway in faith. <3

  2. For sure, my friend!! Love you!

  3. Love you too, sweet friend! Summer is almost here! Gonna come visit!
