Fun with the GranDunns & Family

Just want to catch up on some cute pics I have of the kids with D's side of the fam.

These are from the Fall, but I love them.

The boys with Jennifer's (D's sister) kids.

John & Stella. Too cute.

We went to visit a couple of weeks ago after D's Mom had surgery. She seemed to be doing great. The boys had her taking care of THEM!

D & Pops. (He said not to put this pic on FB, so I didn't...he didn't say don't blog it though!) I think they're precious! (& yes, I will get in trouble for calling them "precious")
I don't have as many pics of D's side of the fam b/c they don't like pics & don't let me boss them into taking them. :(

John & PawPaw=BFFs!

Gotta break out the special toys. :)

While we were in town, we got to go to see two of D's cousins graduate.
At the risk of sounding old, it's crazy to me that these chickadees are old enough to graduate. Just yesterday they were (2 out of 3) our flower girls in our wedding.
These girls are precious to me. They are so smart, beautiful inside & out, & love & pursue the Lord. We couldn't be prouder.

Here's Kaylee!! She will be attending LSU Baton Rouge in the Fall. She won't be too far from us!

& here's Maci!! She will be attending Louisiana Tech in Ruston in the Fall. That'll be moving a little closer to us also!

Both girls graduated with tons of honors, so they were among the first few to be called to get their diploma. This is what D did after they walked. (HeMan game on his phone)

After graduation we went to spend the night w/ Granny & Grandad.
I LOVE looking at all the old pics they have up. Of all of the greatness, this is my fave. The family picture D wasn't present for. Haha!!!

The boys got lots of good Grandad wrestling & snuggles!

Granny spoiled us like always & had a yummy dinner & dessert that night & our favorite Christmas Morning breakfast the next morning.
When D & I dated, he talked about breakfast at Granny's like it was a hallowed moment. After getting to participate for more than a decade, I totally get it. No one but your grandparents spoil you like you're still a kid. Few places can make you feel like a kid again. There's no place like Granny's.

Granny & I worked on some yummy chocolate graduation hats for the graduation party.

The cute dessert table w/ my fave cake!

Our family celebrates pretty much everything at the same fish place. We even had our Engagement Party here. We have our own special room. We love it.

This is the where the boys hang out most of the night.

John was having way too much fun with a balloon.

John giving Aunt Carol some loving.

We headed back home the next day & the balloon was still John's obsession. :)

It was so good to see family!

Week in Review

This week was just one of those weeks that was full of fun stuff. We seem to have lots of those weeks coming up.

On Monday night we had a girl's night to dinner & to see the movie Mom's Night Out. It was such a good movie! I want to see it again!
It was abt some Moms going for a night out & all the crazy things that happen at home while they're gone. Little did I know, D was having his own wild night! I left the boys with him. He had planned to take them to watch a baseball game, but he got a call that a church member died, so he had to find someone to watch the boys while he went to be with the family. When he finally got back to pick the boys up, they thought they were still going to a baseball game, so D ended up taking them to some random game at a Petal field. The boys had a great time! It's all they've talked about all week.
Btw-so thankful for sweet friends who help us with the boys at a moments notice!

On Tuesday night the Center for Families had their end of the year party, so we went to that.

Ya know, just rocking our green & blue! (Poor Dustie haha!!)

After the CFFC party, we went to dinner to have pizza & froyo. Fox's Pizza is connected to the frozen yogurt place. You can't have one without the other. (Actually, you can. You can have froyo by itself anytime. You just can't go get pizza w/out getting froyo.)

We let the boys pick their yogurt & toppings. Jax's is on the left, John's is on the right.

Thursday was our 10 Year Anniversary!! Y'all already know all about that :) D took me to Crescent City that night-it's one of our faves. Our precious Moak friends kept the boys for us. They're the best!!

On Friday we ran some errands. We needed groceries & to get a few things to help me get ready for the boys' birthday party.

Some fun Summertime Snackage we got. (Idk about y'all, but I'm nosey & love seeing weird things like what people buy.)

On Friday night we went to dinner with friends. We ate at a cool place named Leatha's.

To just drive by, I would honestly be nervous to eat there, but this shack has got it going on! It's been featured in Southern Living a few times. We had the ribs & they were delish!

They had a random bunch of pigs on the front porch, so we had to hang out there for a bit.

& ride them...

:)

This morning we drove out to some church friends' lake house where they're having a big Sunday School party. They had a ton of fun things to do.

The waterslide. It was crazy fast. Fun fun.

Cooper & Jax had a fun time.

John's passing out the drinks! (Or trying to sneak a Coke.)

Jax swam a little bit.

& rode on the boat & jet ski. While John fought a nap all afternoon.

John slept in the car & for a while after we got home...& now he's snoring like a man beside me!

What a really fun week!!

Thankful for fun things to do & wonderful people to do them with!

Totes Tensies!!! [10 Year Anniversary]

For those who have followed my blog a while have heard me say (read) that I'm not a PDA, mushy gushy "feelings" kind of girl. I'll explain my strangeness as I have before. My whole life, I would like (or have a crush on a guy) for however long, but as soon as he liked me back, it "weirded me out" & scared me off. I even liked long distance relationships so I didn't feel smothered. Dustie was the first guy for me to have a relationship with & it "worked." I jokingly tell him that it worked out with him b/c he didn't like me too much. He jokes back that, "I can keep waiting (for him to like me)." & BAM. That's the perfect example of why we "work".
While we can joke & have fun like that, in all seriousness, no man has made me feel entirely loved & cherished as Dustie Dunn.
So, while I'm not a mushy gushy girl, I might make you sick while talking about my husband. He has all my heart, respect, & I'm his biggest fan.

Now that the goo is out of the way, I wanna have a little fun.

Today we celebrate 10 years of being married. & 15+ years of being best friends.

10 Funsies:
He's the:
1-Peanut Butter to my Jelly
2-Mickey to my Minnie
3-Ross to my Rachel
4-Superman to my Lois Lane
5-Calm to my Crazy
6-Logic to my Whims
7-Cardigan to my Skirt
8-Shark to my Sharknado
9-Doug to my Carrie
10-Chips on my Sandwich

10 things I Love About D/Us:
1-That we are so different, we are often opposites (but it makes us perfect Trivial Pursuit Partners!)
2-How he's wholeheartedly & morally opposed to things such as selfies, trends, things like people saying, "totes" or "aca-awesome"! (& then I love even more to say or do those things & watch your reaction! haha) *I named the blog post for his joy & personal fulfillment.
3-When we sing the boys' songs to them in a fun, dramatic way & we're impressed with our "mad skillz." & then we laugh at how the boys just have no idea how awesome their parents are. Duh!
4-That he still dates me.
5-That he goes along with my crazy adventures/ideas.
6-That he lets me color coordinate our family.
7-When he makes me laugh (like all the time).
8-More than #7, when I make him laugh. I feel accomplished.
9-That he loves to constantly incorrectly point out my ethnic differences (calling me Chinese or Japanese, etc).
10-The way I feel safe, secure, & completely loved by you.

There's Crickets & Tadpoles, Turtles & Frogs...

Tonight the Preschoolers performed Down by the Creek Bank - the musical they have worked on all year. It was so precious!!
(Jax napped for all of the afternoon, so there was no sleeping this time. :))

Pics of the program. I know I'm cheesy. But it's all so cute!

Jax & his friend Hudson had special lines in the song, "Germs."

Jax's line was, "He often falls asleep when the sermon is too long!" HAHA!!
D got a chuckle out of that one!

Daddy was so proud of his boy. This makes me happy. :)

Jax with his friend Mason. (His other friend Khloe is hidden, & I'm so sad his teachers' heads got cut off in the picture!) Mason sang the song, "Germs." He did such a great job. I practiced Jax's music with him & "Germs" was a very wordy song even for an adult. Good job Mason!

Jax walking Germs, his invisible dog. :)

We are so proud of our sweet boy & so thankful for all of the Preschool Choir teachers & our super-awesome & favorite Preschool Minister, Mrs. Kelly. We are so blessed!!

You can view the video of the choir singing, "Germs, My Invisible Dog" here.
