Lampoons at it Again

Just a fun quick picture post of our little family vacay.
We're having fun just resting after a very busy season. We're also shopping & site-seeing. All of my faves!
Thank You Lord for abundant life!

The Man I Love

I don't want my husband's celebrations to get lost in the hustle & bustle of this Christmas season.

Dustie had his 30th birthday on the 10th & with the help of the best family & friends ever, we gave him a surprise birthday party! It was so fun & my man even teared up a little! (Just don't ask him. He'll totally deny it!)

Also, in the process of working towards his Doctorate, he earned a Certificate in Ministry. What is most meaningful about this is that this time next year he will have graduated with his Doctorate!

So proud of my hard-working Hubs & am already exhausted just listening to him plan out his SECOND DOCTORATE! Yes, I married a nerd. ;)

School Christmas Fun

Since Jax only goes to school 2 days a week, so we love to spoil the teachers with goodies every school day of the month.

Here are his teacher gifts & the wrapped gifts are books for his friends.

We love to give!!

Kringle

This post is super late, but I have to record the first morning Kringle came this year.
Our Elf on the Shelf doesn't come to visit until the night before December 1st. He'll stop by each night & in the morning he may have done something silly or left a fun treat.
We just have him as a fun part of our Christmas celebration all month long!
I love the wonder & joy of a kid!

Grinch Slumberparty!

"Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more!"

This weekend, my Mom planned a fun Grinch slumber party for me & the boys. D went to a SS Christmas party & then took an overnight hunting trip, so we just did it at our house. (It's so much easier than taking all of our stuff somewhere else.)

We watched the cartoon version & the real version of, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Jax LOVED them both & now won't stop picking those to watch.

The next day, Mom kept the boys & they made a gingerbread house & train while I went to Christmas Choir rehearsal. After that, we went out to lunch & then to a fun petting zoo that had reindeer & Santa!

It was a great weekend!!

The Best Gift

For anyone who knows me at all, they know my love language is gifts. I'm way more into giving gifts than receiving.
When I give a gift, it's a way to say I love you, I appreciate you, I'm thankful for you, or I just want you to feel special.
This Christmas season I've been working to teach Jax that we give others gifts to show them that we love them. We do this at Christmas time because that's when we celebrate God giving us the greatest gift of all-Jesus!
Here are a few gifts we brought to church for Jax's Sunday School teachers, John's nursery coordinator, nursery workers, & SS friends!
We love & appreciate all the people who invest in our babies!

Jax's Cho-lock-uhlate Cake

Tomorrow we're having lunch at church & we are all to bring a dish. I decided to go with a dessert since I'm a much better baker than a cook!
We recently had the yummiest cake at Thanksgiving made by Aunt Beth so I decided it was a must!
Jax LOVES to help in the kitchen & he's gotten to be a lot of help! He basically made this delicious cake!
I'm not certain of the origin of this recipe, so I'll credit Beth.

Ooey Gooey Cho-lock-uhlate Cake
(Named by Jax Dunn)
Bake 1 box of German chocolate cake mix made according to directions.
While warm, poke large holes in the cake & pour sweetened condensed milk & caramel topping over it.
Cover with cool whip.
Sprinkle Heath bar bits over the top.
Refrigerate.
Enjoy!!

(Another special thing: We made it in Dustie's Meme's star cake pan. 1-his Meme is now in Heaven & 2-D is preaching on the star part of the nativity story tomorrow!)

Ho Ho Ho! Who wouldn't go...to Branson?

I'm super behind on posting b/c we've just been having too much fun!

My Mom, Mammaw, & I recently took the boys to Branson. We just LOVE it there! There are lots of fun things to do & good shopping!

While there, we rode the Polar Express, went to the Dixie Stampede, & visited Santa!

So thankful for time with family!
