"A Mouse!"

A Mouse = Jax's way of saying Mickey Mouse

Our 2011 Disney vacation is booked and I couldn't be more excited!!! Everything is so magical about that place-even making reservations. My travel agent, Petunia was amazing! She gave us lots of tips and advice & I just can't wait to get there! The place is so magical you want to give them your money! We really should invest...
I was excited last time we went (Dustie said I was excited enough for us all) but Jax was so little, he slept through most of it. I'm even more excited for this time b/c Jax LOVES "A Mouse" (think: if we turn the TV on for anything-it better be to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or one of the Toy Story movies). He's gonna LOVE Disney!!!

It's Better to Give than to Receive

We have had so many parties, showers & events lately! It seems all I've been doing is dreaming up fun gifts and wrapping them! (Which I love hehe) I love to find great deals & prices so that we can get the recipient lots of fun stuff. I like for the gifts to coordinate, or to sometimes have a theme. I also like for the wrapping paper to go with it somehow. Here are some just from this past week!

This is a gift for one of Jax's schoolmates/church friends

I think this little striped dress with polka dot leggings is the stuff!
They weren't sold together-I just found them separately & fell in love.
We added a My Little Pony to go with it!

This is a gift for our neice. The paper seems plain, but it totally matches the outfit inside!
I cannot believe I didn't get a pic-but it was a pair of pink squeaky shoes with white polka dots,
little black tutu skirt, and a white onesie with a big pink w/ white polka dotted "S" on it.
Maybe I can get a pic of her in it!

This is also for my neice Stella-it's a book about princesses and a fun birthday wand.

This is Stella's third present-an adorable blue dress with big white polka dots.

Finally, this is a present for a friend's baby shower.
I love the plain white paper with a fun, loud ribbon!

Here's the inside: A Danny and the Dinosaur book, a Ralph Lauren baby outfit
& some stickers with the baby's name on it that can be used as book stickers or gift tags...

The Great Valentine!

Ok, so this is my last Valentine's Day post. (I already know I'm a holiday dork...you don't have to tell me!) The Great Valentine came & left some pretty awesome stuff! The wagon is something we have been wanting/ needing for quite a while. He rode in one all throughout the zoo when we went to New Orleans. It seems "way cooler" to Jax than a stroller. Also, it seats 2 which will be very helpful when Jax is playing with a friend or in the future ;) Inside the wagon, we found a HUMONGOUS Mickey Mouse! Jax is super in love with Mickey Mouse right now. (That & Toy Story...it makes my heart smile!) He also brought a fun Toy Story bag filled with goodies: Toy Story pajamas, books, coloring books, Mickey sippy cups, Toy Story Band Aids, Charlie Brown stickers, minky washcloths & lots more. That Great Valentine knows us so well!

Jax checking out all the goods...

Cups with Mickey Mouse on them!

"He's as big as I am!"

Aww...givin Mickey some lovin

Testing it out...

Feels pretty good!

Jax wanted, "A-Mouse" to ride with him!

MDO Valentine's Party

We had camera issues last week (don't worry, a new one is on my birthday list!) & I do not have pictures for half of the fun stuff we did! :( I did take a few phone pictures-that's what you see in this post, but I'm missing pics of Jax's adorable Valentine cookies, his Valentine goodies he made his friends & his teacher's Valentine goodies. Maybe I can find another parent to steal some pics from!

Jax's job was to bring cookies to his MDO Valentine Party.
We have an awesome bakery in town-Julie Anne's so I ran by & got some.
Basically, you can't go in JA's w/ out getting a petit four...
Seriously, it's the best! I just got one for me & Little to share.

Obviously, Jax LOVED it (just like his Mama!)
He must have had a lot of birthdays in his class lately, b/c
when I asked him if he wanted some cake, he started singing
"Happy Birthday to you..." I didn't even know he knew that song!

All the MDO kids were supposed to make/decorate shoeboxes
to collect their Valentines in. We made an alligator for Jax.

They went with his Valentines he gave his friends.
(Plus alligators holding hearts.)

I think he was pretty proud...

I was kinda proud too. His "mouth" opens (like a hinge) to put the
Valentines in. Inside, his mouth is all dark (painted black) & you
can even see his tongue in there!

Love is a many splendored thing...

This past Saturday my brother Chris and his FIANCE Lauren (yes, new news as of last week! yay!!) came over so Chris & Dustie could get a few things on Dustie's "Honey-Do" list done. We just made a fun night of it & made Valentine pizzas (with heart-shaped pepperonis)! It was a grand time!

Here's Lauren making hers & Chris'

The pizza goodies!

Yum!

Jax is making mine & his!

He's carefully placing each pepperoni

Ready for the oven!

Now Jax is making Dada's

Jax & Dada checking to see if they're ready...

The finished product! YUM!!!

That night we also got our Valentines ready for our church people.
Here are Jax's Valentines for his nursery ladies & SS teachers.

& here are his Valentines for his SS friends!

We ordered the crayons this year, but next year we're going to try to make our own!

& Jax got a small treat just for funsies
A red vintage tee like D & I LOVE w/ Pepe le Pew on it
& the saying, "Love Stinks!" Too cute!

Love Song for a Savior

When thinking about Valentine's Day & love. I must first think of my first love-the Lord. This Jars of Clay song is so appropriate.

Love Song for a Savior

In open fields with wild flowers
She breathes the air and flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daisies and the roses
In no simple language
Some day she'll understand the meaning of it all
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close as a heartbeat or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust Him, learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call her and she will come running
Fall in His arms, the tears will fall down and she'll pray

I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You

Sitting silent wearing Sunday best
The sermon echoes through the walls
A great salvation through it calls to the people
Who stare into nowhere, and can't feel the chains on their souls

He's more than the laughter, or the stars in the Heavens
As close as a heartbeat, or a song on our lips
Someday we'll trust Him, learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call us and we will come running
And fall in His arms, and the tears will fall down and we'll pray

I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You

Seems to easy to call You Savior
And not close enough to call You God
So as I sit and think of words I can mention
To show my devotion

I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You
I want to fall in love with You

My whole life revolves around the fact that He called me, I answered & He is now my Lord and Savior. I've tried to live my life purposefully, according to His will, & because of that, I reap the limitless blessings today.

Snow Days!!!

So last Friday morning we woke up to this. (I didn't get good pics b/c we were excited to go out and play in it & then I only took pics of Jax.)

It's just crazy! In Jax's little life of less than 2 years he has had 3 pretty substantial snows (for Louisiana at least)! Dustie and I say we MAY have had that many in our whole childhood. That crazy global warming...hehe :)

Needless to say, Jax had a blast. Friday afternoon we went to our friends' house-the McRae's and played in the snow with them until the wee hours of the night! (ok, till 11, but those are "wee hours" for little men!)

Here he is with his bff Boo

Wee!!!

Jax & Dad took a turn in the sled & on the 4-wheeler.
The pic stinks-it was dark & I used my phone. :(

We had an awesome supper-gumbo & bread pudding.
Awesome Louisiana Friday night!

Jax LOVES it there.
They have LOTS of friends to play with & LOTS of goodies to eat!

Here he is with Jon & Daniel-he thinks he's as big as they are.

Cuddling Boo...a LOT

The next day we decided to build a snowman before all the snow melted.

Jax was more interested in eating the snow.
(Up until now, that's all he had really done with it-snow ice cream!)

Jax not too sure about this snowman that's his size.

It grew! Now he really doesn't know what to think!

The funniest thing now is Jax is obsessed with his boots! He will not take them off. He wants to nap in them even. It's hilarious!
